Mast climbing platforms (MCWP) for operators
This course is designed for individuals who need tooperate a mast climbing platform (MCWP) safely and correctly.It provides the participant with the necessary knowledge of the equipment's operation, safety systems, and control functions, enabling the operator to work effectively and safely on the construction site.
The course includes both theoretical and practical elements, including how to use the controls, perform daily inspection routines, and handle emergencies.
The purpose of the course:
To instruct an operator in the safe preparation and operation of various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and to achieve an IPAF MEWP operator licence.
By the end of the course, the operator will have learned:
- General information about MCWPs
- Introduction to mast climbing platforms
- Controls and safety equipment
- Operating instructions and checking safety features
- Emergency procedures and troubleshooting
- Pre-use (daily) inspection and checking of the machine
IPAF courses consist of a two-part assessment. The two-part assessment involves a theoretical and a practical test, both of which must be passed.
After passing the course, you will receive a course certificate, a PAL card (Powered Access Licence), a logbook, and a safety guide in the IPAF ePAL app. An IPAF certificate is valid for 5 years and is internationally recognised as proof of competence in the safe operation of lifts.
